Students’ achievement
Attainment and progress are strong across English, mathematics and science in the primary and secondary phases. It is not as strong in Islamic education and Arabic although there are improvements especially in Arabic. In Foundation Stage (FS), children make good progress in English and mathematics. Progress in science is slower across FS and lower Primary. Students confidently use technology. Learning skills are a strength of the school.
Personal and social development
Students possess very positive and responsible attitudes in all that they do. They behave well and enjoy productive relationships with one another. They are kind and have a strong work ethic. Children in FS are eager to learn and complete their work. They demonstrate a secure understanding of Islamic values and Emirati culture as well as their own culture and heritage. Environmental sustainability and conservation are embedded throughout the school.
Teaching, curriculum and care
Teaching is highly effective across the school. It is enhanced by teachers' understanding of how students learn. Questioning techniques encourage students to explain, reason, and justify. Teachers have expert subject knowledge, and engage positively with students. Time is not always used effectively. The school’s arrangements for assessment are secure and reliable. Teachers have a good awareness of students' social and academic progress.
Wellbeing
Leaders are committed to optimising the well-being of staff, students and parents. Feedback from students and staff consistently supports positive well-being. The school remains innovative in meeting changing well-being needs. The well-being curriculum aligns closely with UAE values. Diversity ambassadors celebrate difference and tolerance. The house system develops a sense of camaraderie while peer mentoring brings older and younger students together.
Inclusion
The school is committed to inclusion where students of determination, Emirati students, those with English language needs and those with gifts and talents are fully supported, challenged, and encouraged. The school places a strong emphasis on establishing positive relationships with parents. Robust assessment and monitoring systems are used to track the progress of students of determination. The development of alternative pathways is ongoing.
Leadership and management
Leaders across all levels, inspired and encouraged by the principal, have a clear vision for the school based on the principles of integrity, inclusivity and collaboration. Self-evaluation is systematic and rigorous. Improvement plans are well articulated but scheduling needs further consideration. Partnerships with parents is excellent. Governors are purposefully engaged. Staffing, facilities and resources are exceptional.
