The table

In 2026–27, this site lists 31 schools in Dubai under the Indian CBSE curriculum, the schools of its CBSE hub; all 31 hold a KHDA rating and 22 are Good or better, most from the 2023–24 inspections. Their Grade 4 tuition runs from AED 3,128 to AED 30,539 a year at the 30 schools that publish it, as listed in KHDA's Fees Fact Sheets. The table lists each with its fee, the approved fee beside any discount, its area and its rating with its year.

The 31 rows, one per school, run from the lowest Grade 4 fee. The fee is the school's 2026–27 tuition for that year group on its KHDA Fees Fact Sheet, after any discount the sheet lists, with the approved fee beside it. Tap a column heading to sort; tap a school for its fees in every year group.

Tuition is the Grade 4 figure on the school's 2026–27 KHDA Fees Fact Sheet, after any discount the sheet lists; the approved fee is the figure KHDA approved for that year group. Uniforms, transport, books and registration fees are extra.

Of the 31 schools, 30 publish a Grade 4 fee. Grade 4 is the age of Year 5 in a British school. «Starts at …» means the school's first year group is later than Grade 4, so there is no Grade 4 fee to show; its fees for the years it does teach are on its profile.

At the 2 schools listed «Indian CBSE, British», KHDA publishes two Fees Fact Sheets, and the Grade 4 figure here is from the Indian one. In the upper grades the two sheets can differ, so open the school's profile and read the sheet for the stream your child would join.

The rating is the school's latest overall judgement on KHDA's six-level scale, with the year of the inspection that gave it: 29 of the 31 ratings are from 2023–24; 2 are from 2025–26. Every school here has a rating. New 2026–27 reports will appear school by school, so a rating can change this year.

KHDA's directory lists these schools as «Indian» and does not name a board. This site reads the board from the CBSE school register (or, for a school not found there, from the school's own statement) and lists ICSE schools separately; see «ICSE is a different board» below.

How to read the table

Three things make the columns comparable: one year group, one fee year, and a rating that carries its date. Two more matter here: the school year begins in April, and the fee printed is the one charged after a discount, with the approved fee beside it.

Grade 4 is Year 5

A CBSE school numbers its classes the Indian way: Grade 1 at six, counted on 31 March of the joining year, so a Grade 4 child is nine on 31 March. In a British school the same child is in Year 5, counted on 31 December; the two labels describe the same age. That is why this column lines up with the Year 5 column in the British, American and IB tables of this series.

Every curriculum at this age is on one page: Year 5 / Grade 4 schools in Dubai: fees 2026–27. For an exact date of birth, with the April year already built in, use Which year group is my child in?.

An April-to-March year

All 31 schools in this table began 2026–27 on 6 April 2026 and end it between 17 March 2027 and 25 March 2027. KHDA's calendar rules ask them for at least 182 school days, compared with 185 at schools that start at the end of August. So «2026–27» on this page is the year now in progress, not the year a family would join next April.

For a family arriving between September and March, the question is which grade the child joins for the rest of the current year and whether that grade has a place; schools answer this one child at a time. Dates for both school years, side by side: Dubai school calendar 2026–27: the two school years.

A rating has a year

KHDA rates every private school on one six-level scale, from Outstanding to Very weak. In KHDA's directory most schools' latest rating is still from 2023–24, so 29 of the 31 schools here carry a 2023–24 rating; the other 2 are newer schools rated later. Of the 31, 8 are Very good, 14 Good and 9 Acceptable; none is Outstanding, and none is Weak or Very weak.

New 2026–27 reports will replace the older ratings one school at a time. What each level means, and how a rating is decided: What KHDA ratings mean.

Discount and approved fee

KHDA approves a fee for each year group, and a school may charge less than that; where it does, its Fees Fact Sheet lists both. The table prints the fee charged and the approved fee beside it. At Grade 4, of the 30 schools with a fee, 6 charge less than the approved figure; the widest gap is at Bright Riders School in Dubai Investment Park, AED 15,912 charged against AED 24,000 approved.

A discount is the school's decision for one year and can be changed or withdrawn, while the approved fee is the most KHDA has allowed the school to charge for that year group in 2026–27; later years are set by KHDA's annual fee decisions. When comparing two schools, read the approved fee as the figure the school may return to, and ask the school how long the discount runs. What the sheet is and how to read it: Fees Fact Sheet.

ICSE is a different board

KHDA's directory labels 34 open schools «Indian» and does not say which board sets their syllabus and examinations. This site checks each against the CBSE school register, or the school's own statement where it is not listed there: 31 follow CBSE and are in this table; 3 follow the CISCE board (the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, whose exams are ICSE and ISC) and are not.

The ICSE schools on this site, with the Grade 4 tuition for 2026–27 on the school's Indian sheet (KHDA labels it «Indian» or «Indian/IB») and the latest KHDA rating:

  • Ambassador School · Mankhool · Indian ICSE · AED 25,355 · Very good (2023–24)
  • GEMS Modern Academy · Nad Al Sheba · Indian ICSE, IB · AED 45,670 · Outstanding (2023–24)
  • JSS International School · Jumeirah Village Circle · Indian ICSE · AED 20,654 after discount (approved AED 21,741) · Very good (2023–24)

Which board suits a child who may later return to school in India is a question for the family and the school; this page only keeps the two apart.

What the reports record

KHDA does not publish board examination results, so there are none on this page or elsewhere on this site. What the inspection reports do record is which examinations a school sits. A report records what the inspectors saw on that visit, so a school whose report does not name an exam may still sit it. How often reports across Dubai mention CBSE and ICSE examinations: Programmes and exams in Dubai schools.

Fees in bands

30 of 31 CBSE schools publish a Grade 4 fee for 2026–27, from AED 3,128 to AED 30,539; 24 of them charge under AED 20,000 (15 of those are rated Good or better), and 6 charge between AED 20,000 and 39,999, all of them rated Good or better. No CBSE school charges AED 40,000 or more for Grade 4.

Fees by area

The CBSE schools are spread over 15 areas of Dubai, and they cluster. Between them, 5 areas hold 19 of the 31, each with three or more: Al Quoz, Al Garhoud, Al Qusais, Al Warqa, and Muhaisnah. Another 2 areas have two schools each; the other 8 schools are the only CBSE school in their area.

Counts are schools, not campuses, and each school is counted in the area this site lists for it. Where an area has three or more CBSE schools, its own page lists them by rating group, linked from its row above. Al Qusais and its neighbours Al Nahda and Al Twar are covered together, with bus routes and where a child starts primary school, in Choosing a school in Al Qusais, Al Nahda and Al Twar.

Families moving from abroad usually choose a home first and a school second, and the commute is often the largest cost after tuition. Start from where you will live or work: Schools near where you will live or work. For transport, uniforms and books: School costs beyond tuition in Dubai, 2026–27.

Fees for April 2027

A child joining a CBSE school at the start of a year joins in April. The 2027–28 year begins in April 2027, and schools open registration for it in the autumn before. The Indian High School – Oud Metha states that registration for 2027–28 opened on 3 September 2026; The Millennium School says admission for a new year begins in September or October of the year before. Ask each school for its own dates.

For a child already at the school, KHDA's registration and refund policy lets an April-start school collect the re-registration deposit only after the winter break, with a payment deadline no earlier than 1 February. A new pupil's registration deposit is asked for only after the family has accepted a formal offer.

KHDA has not yet published Fees Fact Sheets for 2027–28, so this page cannot show that year's fees. Until it does, read the 2026–27 fee as this year's price and the approved fee as the ceiling the school may return to. When the 2027–28 sheets are out, this page will be updated.

Other year groups

The fee pages list every Dubai school for each year group, with both names for the age: FS1 / Pre-KG, FS2 / KG1, Year 1 / KG2, Year 2 / Grade 1, Year 7 / Grade 6, Year 10 / Grade 9, Year 13 / Grade 12. The CBSE hub, CBSE schools in Dubai, gives the Grade 1, Grade 6 and Grade 11 ranges for these 31 schools alone.

Of the 31 schools, 25 run to Grade 12. For the other 6, KHDA's directory lists a last year group below Grade 12, so check with the school which year group is its last this year:

  • Little Flower English School
  • The Indian High School – Al Garhoud
  • GEMS Legacy School
  • Dewvale School
  • Bright Riders School
  • Dhruv Global School

Fees rise with each year group, so check the one your child will join, not the one in a headline. For the 2 schools with two curricula, the two sheets can differ in the upper grades; see the note under the table.

For the whole journey, from the year group your child joins to Grade 12, the cost planner adds up one school's published fees by year group.

Questions parents ask

How much do CBSE schools in Dubai charge for Grade 4 in 2026–27?

At the 30 of 31 CBSE schools that publish a Grade 4 fee, 2026–27 tuition runs from AED 3,128 to AED 30,539 a year after any discount, as listed in KHDA's Fees Fact Sheets; 24 of them charge under AED 20,000. The table above gives each school's figure, with the approved fee beside it; the Year 5 / Grade 4 fee page sets them beside every other curriculum.

Which CBSE schools in Dubai are rated Good or better by KHDA?

22 of the 31: 8 are Very good and 14 Good, most from the 2023–24 inspections; the other 9 are Acceptable. Sort the table by the rating column to see them together, and read the year beside each rating before you weigh it. What the six levels mean: What KHDA ratings mean.

When does the CBSE school year start in Dubai, and when do schools take admissions?

In April: all 31 schools in this table began 2026–27 on 6 April 2026 and end it in March 2027. Registration for the following April usually opens the autumn before; two schools' own pages put it in September or October. Each school sets its own dates, so ask directly.

Are CBSE fees in Dubai for 2027–28 published yet?

No. KHDA's Fees Fact Sheets for 2027–28 were not published when this page was checked, so the table shows 2026–27, the year that began in April 2026. Use it as this year's price, read the approved fee as the ceiling a school may return to, and ask the school for its 2027–28 figure.

Is ICSE the same as CBSE?

No. CBSE and CISCE are two Indian boards with different syllabuses and examinations (CISCE's are ICSE and ISC); KHDA's directory calls both «Indian», so this site reads the board from the CBSE school register, or from the school's own statement where it is not listed there. On this site, 3 schools follow ICSE and are not in the table: Ambassador School, GEMS Modern Academy, and JSS International School, listed above with fee and rating.

Which areas have the most CBSE schools?

Al Quoz, Al Garhoud, Al Qusais, Al Warqa, and Muhaisnah, each with three or more: 19 of the 31 schools in 5 areas. Each of those areas has its own page of CBSE schools by rating group; the other schools are spread over 10 more areas.

Does KHDA publish CBSE board results?

No, and neither does this site. KHDA's inspection reports record which examinations a school sits, but they do not give results. For a school's Grade 10 and Grade 12 results, ask the school.

Why do some rows show two fees?

The larger figure is the fee KHDA approved for that year group; the smaller is what the school charges after a discount listed on its Fees Fact Sheet. At Grade 4, 6 schools in the table show two fees, and the gap runs up to AED 8,088 at Bright Riders School. A discount is set for one year, so ask the school how long it runs.
