The table

In 2026–27, KHDA lists 36 schools in Dubai under the International Baccalaureate, the schools of this site's IB hub. Their Year 5 / Grade 4 tuition runs from AED 25,667 to AED 108,314 a year at the 36 schools that publish it, as listed in KHDA's Fees Fact Sheets. Of these, 35 hold a KHDA rating; 34 are Good or better, most from the 2023–24 inspections.

The 36 rows, one per school, run from the lowest Year 5 / Grade 4 fee. The fee is the school's 2026–27 tuition for that year group on its KHDA Fees Fact Sheet, after any discount the sheet lists. The last column names the IB programmes in the school's latest KHDA inspection report. Tap a column heading to sort; tap a school for its fees in every year group.

Tuition is the Year 5 / Grade 4 figure on the school's 2026–27 KHDA Fees Fact Sheet, after any discount the sheet lists; where the approved fee is higher, it is shown beneath. Uniforms, transport, books and registration fees are extra.

All 36 schools publish a Year 5 / Grade 4 fee. The row prints the year group in the school's own system: Year 5 at a school that numbers its classes the British way, Grade 4 at one that numbers them the American or Indian way; the age is the same.

At most of the schools listed «British, IB», the Year 5 fee is on the British (UK) Fees Fact Sheet, and the IB sheet, where KHDA publishes one, covers Year 12 and Year 13 only; at a few, one sheet covers every year group. There, Year 5 is a British-curriculum year and the IB begins later.

The rating is the school's latest overall judgement on KHDA's six-level scale, with the year of the inspection that gave it: 34 of the 35 ratings are from 2023–24; 1 is from 2024–25. New 2026–27 reports will appear school by school, so a rating can change this year. One school has no rating yet: Ambassador International Academy – Mankhool has had no KHDA inspection.

The last column lists the IB programmes named in the «School information» table of the school's latest KHDA inspection report, in KHDA's wording: Diploma, MYP (Middle Years Programme), CP (Career-related Programme), PYP (Primary Years Programme). «IB» alone means the report lists IB examinations without naming a programme.

«None named» means the table lists no IB programme. A report records what the school stated at that inspection, so a programme it does not name may still be taught; ask the school which programmes it teaches today.

Year 1, Year 7 and Year 12 fees, IB schools

How to read the table

Three things make the columns comparable: one year group, one fee year, and a rating that carries its date. A fourth column adds which part of the IB the school's inspection report names.

Year 5 is Grade 4

The IB does not number classes; each school keeps the numbering of the system it grew from, so this table shows Year 5 at one school and Grade 4 at another for the same age, a child who is nine on 31 December. In the IB, that age falls within the Primary Years Programme, which runs from age 3 to 12.

Every curriculum at this age is on one page: Year 5 / Grade 4 schools in Dubai: fees 2026–27. For an exact date of birth, use Which year group is my child in?

A rating has a year

KHDA rates every private school on one six-level scale, from Outstanding to Very weak. It published few new ratings for established schools after 2023–24, so 34 of the 35 rated schools here carry a 2023–24 rating; new 2026–27 reports will replace them one school at a time. What each level means, and how a rating is decided: What KHDA ratings mean.

IB alone, or beside another curriculum

These 36 rows are the IB hub's schools; closed schools are not listed. Of these, 17 list the IB as their only curriculum; the other 19 teach it beside another one, as the Curriculum column shows: British at 12 schools, American at 6, and Indian ICSE at 1.

At most of the «British, IB» schools the IB is the sixth-form route (Year 12 and Year 13), taken after IGCSEs in place of or alongside A levels, so a child joining in Year 5 is joining a British primary. A school listed «IB» alone usually runs the IB from the first year group.

The Curriculum column is what KHDA lists; which programme a child would follow at each age is a question for the school, and how the four main curricula are built is in Choosing a curriculum in Dubai.

Diploma, Career-related and what a report names

The IB has four programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP, ages 3 to 12), the Middle Years Programme (MYP, 11 to 16), the Diploma Programme (DP, 16 to 19) and the Career-related Programme (CP, 16 to 19). A school may run one of them or all four; KHDA's Education Directory does not say which.

The last column therefore reads the «School information» table of each school's latest KHDA inspection report. Of the 35 schools with a report, 18 name the Diploma, 6 the MYP, 4 the Career-related Programme and 1 the PYP, and 3 list IB examinations without naming a programme. The other 13 name no IB programme in that table; several of them are listed «British, IB», where the IB is the sixth-form route (see above).

A report records what the school stated at the inspection, in KHDA's words, and the report tables rarely list primary programmes. So «None named» is not a school without the IB, and a school whose report names only the Diploma may well run the PYP and MYP too. How often reports across Dubai mention each programme and exam: Programmes and exams in Dubai schools.

All 36 IB schools publish a Year 5 / Grade 4 fee for 2026–27, from AED 25,667 to AED 108,314; 25 of the 36, all rated Good or better, charge between AED 40,000 and 69,999, and none charges under AED 20,000.

Fees by area

The IB schools stand in 25 places across Dubai. One area, Al Barsha South, has 5 of them; 7 more areas have two each; the other 17 schools are the only IB school in their area. Nowhere in the city holds more than 5, so for most families the choice is between areas, not within one.

Counts are schools, not campuses, by the place this site lists for the school. Where an area has three or more IB schools, its own page lists them by rating group; today that is one area: IB schools in Al Barsha South.

Families moving from abroad usually choose the home first and the school second. The table shows IB schools at a range of fees in several parts of the city, so the search can start from the commute: Schools near where you will live or work.

Other year groups

The fee pages list every Dubai school for each year group, with both names for the age: FS1 / Pre-KG, FS2 / KG1, Year 1 / KG2, Year 2 / Grade 1, Year 7 / Grade 6, Year 10 / Grade 9, Year 13 / Grade 12. IB schools in Dubai prints the Year 1 / KG2, Year 7 / Grade 6 and Year 12 / Grade 11 ranges for these 36 schools alone.

Of the 36 schools, 32 run to Year 13 / Grade 12. KHDA's directory lists the last year group of the other 4 below that, so check with the school which year group is its last this year:

  • Emirates National Schools
  • Ambassador International Academy
  • Dubai Heights Academy
  • Bloom World Academy

Fees rise with each year group, so check the one your child will join, not the one in a headline. For a school with two curricula, KHDA may publish two Fees Fact Sheets, and the sixth-form fee can differ between them, while the approved Year 5 / Grade 4 fee is the same on both. Open the school's profile and read the sheet for the stream your child would join.

For the whole journey, from the year group your child joins to Year 13 / Grade 12, the cost planner adds up one school's published fees by year group.
