Rating changes in Dubai schools, 2016–17 to 2023–24
Each year KHDA re-inspects most schools. This table counts how many were rated higher, the same or lower than at their previous inspection: 194 schools re-inspected in 2023–24. It starts in 2016–17, the first year two inspections on today's six-level scale can be compared; ratings held during the inspection pause are not new judgements.

How this is worked out
Each school is compared with its own previous inspection on the same six-level scale and counted once, in the year of the later inspection. KHDA's four-level ratings before 2015–16 are not compared with the six levels, and ratings held during the inspection pause are not new judgements.
A year with fewer than 20 schools re-inspected shows how many there were instead of counts. 2020–21 has no column: KHDA inspected no school that year.
Most schools re-inspected in 2022–23 were last inspected in 2019–20, three years before.
